Skill in preparing budgets, program evaluations, and facility administration; managing financial and physical resources of fitness and sports programs; and in effectively organizing and utilizing available resources within the program framework.
Ability to perform and conduct training on performing individual health risk appraisals, comprehensive fitness assessments, and proper exercise techniques for cardiovascular and resistance equipment.
Prepares APF and NAF budgets and resale operations for installation sports and athletic programs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Plans, organizes, administers year-round complex athletic/physical activities program for a large military installation.
Develops installation athletic program for intramural, extramural and varsity sports.
Serves as installation project officer.
Evaluates program effectiveness.

May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to meet program requirements including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position is Situational Telework Eligible (must reside in the local area) for UP TO a maximum of 80% of the time.
Amount of telework time and telework schedule will be at the discretion of the Selecting Official and implemented after entrance on duty.
May require physical dexterity and ability, heavy physical exertion, and exposure to hazardous materials.
Must complete all mandatory training IAW AFI 34-266, Air Force Fitness and Sports Programs.
5 years of fitness experience desired.
3 years of supervisory experience desired.
3 years of managing large budgets desired.
A bachelor?s degree is desired in a fitness, sports, or recreation related field.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions located here SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent.
Specialized experience must include providing comprehensive physical activities for a large military installation.
It may have been gained in the private sector, volunteer service, military service, and/or government service, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge of a wide range of the principles, concepts, and techniques of physical fitness and sports programs including knowledge of exercise science, strength conditioning, nutrition, weight loss/control, cardiovascular endurance, and exercise prescription; of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology as related to exercise and physical fitness; assessment principles and procedures, exercise testing equipment, and physical and psychological factors of individual and team sports.
2.
Knowledge of program and facilities management, safety, fire, and environmental regulations, practices, and procedures, as well as facility design and equipment selection and purchase.
3.
Skill in teaching and communicating effectively with others both orally and in writing to promote and report on the program, and to resolve problems and answer questions relating to the program.
4.
Skill in preparing budgets, program evaluations, and facility administration; managing financial and physical resources of fitness and sports programs; and in effectively organizing and utilizing available resources within the program framework.
5.
Ability to perform and conduct training on performing individual health risk appraisals, comprehensive fitness assessments, and proper exercise techniques for cardiovascular and resistance equipment.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
