Description:
Participates as a member of an integrated team solving technical problems, providing assistance during all phases of design, installation, and operation of DoD networks, Information Systems, and end user equipment at JDAT garrison and deployed environments
Supports the full system engineering life-cycle for a broad range of network components, including requirements analysis, design, specification, development, test, and implementation
Monitors and controls the daily operation of all fixed and deployed JDAT laboratory networks (e.g., Developmental-S, Developmental-U) and enterprise networks (e.g., NIPR, SIPR, Joint Information Operations Range networks, Mission Partner Environment networks)
Remediates network outages or issues that could lead to an outage
Performs needs assessments, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities
Interacts with customers and functional peer groups to gain cooperation regarding solution design and approaches to operations
Qualifications:
Seven years' network related experience
Current baseline certifications meeting IAT-2 requirements
Current CCNA computing environment certification
Proficiency with Enclave Networks, long haul network communications, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP), and core network operations
Solid knowledge of:
o Cisco operating environment: routers, switches, firewalls
o PC based servers and current MS Windows operating system
o TCP/IP, UDP broadcast/multicasting, and other routing protocols
Capability to lift 40 lbs.
Climb ladders to install networking assets
Professional writing and oral presentation skills
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Current baseline certification meeting IAT-3 requirements
Current CCNP computing environment certification
Experience with:
o CISCO collaboration tools
o US government encryption devices
o video teleconferencing
o virtualized environments
o fiber/ethernet cabling
o wireless/radio technology
