The successful applicant will play a key role in lab operations, including design, development, and construction of test and evaluation facilities for advanced active sensor concepts and components. The initial project focuses on nonlinear optics in gas-filled hollow core photonic crystal fibers.
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating with the concept team on understanding the operational principles and modes of the unit under test and applying that knowledge to the construction of appropriate test hardware. The ability to communicate with a wide variety of subject matter experts and determine real, actionable requirements and functional designs and optical hardware is critical.
The successful applicant will support laboratory test, including setup, debugging, operation and documentation.
The successful applicant will be involved in the development of new projector hardware and related test technology.
The successful applicant will need to be able to work effectively both within a team and individually.
The successful applicant must have the ability to anticipate testing requirements and technology to act proactively to position the lab for improvement and success.
A degree in science, engineering, or physics with a focus on optical principles engineering.
