HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
Qualifications:
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2800 Electrical Installation And Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision JOB ELEMENTS:
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision, Knowledge of Electrical Equipment, Theory and Instruments (Electrical, Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices, Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic), Ability To Use Electrical Drawings, Ability to Use and Maintain Hand Tools (Electrical Work), Trouble shooting (electrical). Skills and Knowledge:
-- Knowledge of electrical principles and system operations such as capacitance, transformers, series and parallel circuits, line loading, line losses, and dielectric or conductive properties of material. -- Knowledge of electronic theory, circuits and basic logic controllers to power, timing, indicating, counting mechanisms and similar devices. -- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and of types and sizes of wires/cables, conduits, transformers, and other electrical equipment and circuit elements, and the skill to integrate them into electrical systems and equipment to insure proper operation. -- Ability to install, maintain, and repair commonly used airfield lighting equipment, e.g., troubleshoot repair or replace complex sequence flashing airfield approach strobe circuits, constant current regulators and determine types and sizes of wire, conduit, isolation transformers, regulators etc., and methods of installation and repair. -- Skill in selection and proper use of test equipment and tools of the trade, e.g., vibrogrounds, phase sticks and rotation meters, digital test equipment, fault-finding equipment, inclinometers, ampmeters, voltmeters, meggers, graphic recorders, and dressing tools. -- Knowledge of safety procedures of high voltage work, including what equipment and arc flash clothing to use when working on live circuits. -- Ability and skill in reading and understanding electrical drawings and circuit diagrams to identify troubleshooting methods, locate circuits for excavation, layout efficient plans of work for maintenance and repair and determine viable options for expedient emergency repairs for critical systems such as runway lighting. -- Skill to diagnose and determine corrective action for electric power-controlling equipment such as switchgear, transformer banks, and circuit breakers in substations and power-generating facilities. Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
